Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili sees no need to sign a document on non-aggression with Russia, President's spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said in today's traditional briefing in response to the Russian side's initiative.

"The Georgian authorities have a clear position and require fulfillment of a six-paragraph agreement dated August 12, 2008. Georgia fully complies with this agreement, and but Russia doesn't. Accordingly, the Georgian side sees no need to sign a new document on non-aggression," Manjgaladze said.

Russia always puts forward conditions for Georgia to sign a document on non-aggression in the Geneva talks, the next round of which will be held Oct.14. At the same time Moscow demands signing such a document from Tbilisi with its own regions. Tbilisi has repeatedly stated that it is going to sign no agreement with the separatists, but is ready to sign it with Moscow.
