A new organization under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence will be established to investigate offenses committed in military units.
Amendments to the draft law were discussed at a meeting of the Security and Defense Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Committee chairman Ziyafet Askerov said that the changes are related to the investigation of offenses in military units and the establishment of a new organization to investigate such cases.
Alasgarov said that according to the current law, the offenses are investigated by a person appointed by the commander of the military unit.
According to the proposed changes, a new organization will be established under the legal department of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry to investigate violations committed in military units. It will investigate crimes in the military units.
The bill was recommended for discussion at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The amendments include:
· "Disciplinary Regulations of Armed Forces of the Azerbaijani Republic";
· "The Charter of Garrison and Guard Services of the Armed Forces of the Azerbaijani Republic";
· "The Charter of the Internal Service of the Armed Forces of the Azerbaijani Republic".
