Belgrade to erect monument to Azerbaijani National Leader

A monument to Azerbaijan's revered national leader and former president, the late Heydar Aliyev, will be erected in Tashmaydan Park in central Belgrade, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported referring to the Azerbaijani Embassy in the capital of Serbia.

A monument to Azerbaijan's revered national leader and former president, the late Heydar Aliyev, will be erected in Tashmaydan Park in central Belgrade, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported referring to the Azerbaijani Embassy in the capital of Serbia.

The Belgrade Municipality made the decision erect the monument with the support of the Serbian government.

The 8-hectare Tashmaydan Park is located in the heart of the capital of Serbia and is a favorite recreation spot for both townspeople and visitors to the city.

Meanwhile, a bust of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov will be erected in Novi Sad in the Vojvodina autonomous region of Serbia. Novi Sad is Serbia's second city.
