Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct.9 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Part of opposition voluntarily or not plays into the Georgian authorities' hands, Nino Burjanadze, the leader of the Democratic Movement for United Georgia, believes.
Statements by representatives of the authorities indicate that winners are the parties that play into the authorities' hands, she said at a press conference Oct.8.
"Today, Saakashvili is satisfied with two things: the first - the opposition's division so that that the public lose confidence in it, and the second - delaying the process to gain time and get to the elections of 2013. Election of local self-government have been announced mainly to delay the time, and despite the fact that the opposition previously knew, what results they will have, they took part in this game and congratulated Mikheil Saakashvili on the victory. By this they served the President. Read the conclusion of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee, where it says that these elections were a step towards democracy, because the opposition parties participated in it found no serious violations. Now 7-8-month process of improving the electoral environment is underway. I do not want to say that these parties are directly connected with the authorities. Often they really believe in all that Saakashvili say them," Burjanadze said.
According to her, she was a supporter of that before the current regime's leaving the opposition doesn't attack each other, but the authorities managed to change the direction of arrows of opposition.
