Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov has appointed by his decree Gurbanmirat Mezilov a deputy prime minister on science, new technologies and innovations issues.
This position was established by the state leader for the further improvement of the national Cabinet of Ministers' work. A new vice-premier's office duties, the list of branch departments and scientific-research agencies supervised by him were also approved.
Besides, the provisions about divisions subordinated to the Cabinet of Ministers, office duties of managers and key specialists of these divisions were approved.
Mezilov has been at the head of the Turkmen Academy of Sciences since June 2009. Before that position he was the rector of Turkmen state pedagogical institute.
