The Georgian Parliament during the fall session will discuss a draft of the Freedom Charter, one of the items of which bans use of the Soviet symbols. The bill was initiated by MP Gia Tortladze.
Georgia should use Western countries' experience and ban the use of Soviet symbols by force of law, Tortladze, Strong Georgia fraction leader believes.
According to Tortladze, the bill was also agreed with other factions and works over it supposedly will be completed this week.
Tortladze explained that the law will not apply to individuals who keep items with the Soviet symbols in their homes.
