Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, President's Advisor for Caspian Issues, Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, President's Advisor for Caspian Issues, Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

President Aliyev congratulated Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh with new appointment. The President expressed hope that the successful development of relations between the two countries in various fields will positively contribute to the issues related to the Caspian Sea.

Touching upon the forthcoming summit of Caspian littoral countries in Baku, President Aliyev expressed confidence that the results of the summit will be successful.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, the president's advisor for Caspian issues Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzadeh conveyed the greetings of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iranian people to the Azerbaijani President.

He noted that he feels a sense of pride on his first visit to Azerbaijan at his new post.

The President thanked Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for greetings and conveyed him his greetings.
