Senate Speaker: No political controversies between Kazakhstan and Iran

Between Kazakhstan and Iran there are no political controversies, said Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev at the meeting with Chairman of the Majlis (Parliament) of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Larijani on Monday in Astana, the press office of the Senate reported.

Between Kazakhstan and Iran there are no political controversies, said Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev at the meeting with Chairman of the Majlis (Parliament) of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Larijani on Monday in Astana, the press office of the Senate reported.

"The results of the official visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Kazakhstan on April 6-7 last year, confirmed the desire of the sides to mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, as well as the absence of political controversies between the two countries," Tokayev said.

Speaker of the Senate underlined the importance of enhancing the Kazakh-Iranian parliamentary ties in the further development of constructive political dialogue between the two
states, and expressed interest in sharing experiences and advice in the field of legislative activity.

Larijani, stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary ties to strengthen bilateral relations and appreciated the socio-economic achievements of Kazakhstan, also expressed his confidence in the success of the Kazakhstan OSCE chairmanship.

President of the Majlis of IRI invited Tokayev to pay an official visit to Iran.

Senate deputies met with a delegation of parliamentarians of the Islamic Republic of Iran the same day. During the meeting the sides discussed development of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as increased social and economic relations.
