The Azerbaijani ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) may refuse free airtime, the NAP executive secretary Ali Ahmadov said at a press conference today.

"Due to the fact that 112 candidates from the Party have been registered, we have a right for free airtime. Unless other parties receive a right for it, then we will not also use this right. However, registration of candidates is still underway. If the other parties receive a right for free airtime, the NAP will also take advantage of this right to hold discussions with rivals," he said.

Azerbaijani parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov.7, 2010. The pre-election campaign will start Oct. 15.
