At present, the Central Election Commission (CEC) registered 640 people as candidates for Azerbaijani parliamentary elections, Mazahir Panahov, the CEC chairman, said at a meeting today.
The CEC will end considering appeals Oct.14.
"We are late in considering appeals, and some of the appeals received before have not yet considered," Panahov said regarding the offers of the CEC members to extend the term of consideration of some complaints. ускорить
Panahov instructed the CEC members to accelerate consideration of complaints.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
The appeals on the parliamentary elections were considered at the CEC's meeting.
