Kazakhstan, Astana, Oct. 16 / Trend S.Suleymanov /

The Astana airport will be closed for domestic flights during the OSCE summit scheduled for Dec.1-2 and the national carrier 'Air Astana' has suspended ticket sales, the Kazakh newspaper "Liter" reported with reference to the company's representative.

"The company's representative said a final decision on this has not been adopted yet. She explained that the airport management should determine the number of participants during the summit and the time of their admission, and later on a 'windows'(between flights) will be redeployed," the newspaper said.

According to the 'Air Astana', about 70 planes should arrive in the country in during one morning. This means that aircrafts will land every 5 minutes and each needs ladders, tractors, which must be managed by a trained driver and anti-icing machines that pour the plane before take-off and queue is unacceptable.

"In addition, all these aircrafts need parking, construction of which is already underway at the Astana airport," the paper reported.
