The web cameras will be installed in 10 percent of constituencies during the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, Natik Mammadov, the CEC spokesman, told Trend.

"It is hard to say in which districts web-cameras will be installed. But they will be installed in all regions of the country", Mammadov added.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. The election campaign was officially launched on September 3. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.

Mammadov said that certain criteria will be taken into account while determining the advisability of installing web-cameras in any constituencies.

"This criteria includes the number of voters in the constituency, the opportunity to receive, transmit video images at the site and the conformity of the image with technical features. For example, there is no sense to install a web camera in aconstituenciy where about 50 people will vote. We will try to install web cameras in constituencies, where about 1,500 voters are planned to vote," Mammadov said.
