A presentation has been held on conducting the 13th Islamic Summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Azerbaijan, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan reported Tuesday.
In this regard, the embassy of Azerbaijan in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia has made a presentation entitled "Azerbaijan is ready to host the 13th Islamic Summit". The event was attended by members of the delegation of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, led by Deputy Minister
Vagif Sadigov, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu and other official representatives of the OIC, as well as representatives of the Islamic Development Bank and about 50 general consulates of foreign countries accredited in Jeddah.
During his speech at the presentation, Sadigov said that the Government of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to developing relations and comprehensive cooperation with the OIC and the OIC member states. They have been provided with detailed information about the progress made in this regard by Azerbaijan's foreign policy over recent years, the historical significance of the decisions and resolutions adopted at the 33rd Conference of Foreign Ministers of OIC member states held in Baku, as well as the cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the OIC, including successful conducting of conference of OIC tourism, culture and education ministers in Baku. According to Sadigov, the Azerbaijani government is ready 13th OIC Islamic Summit in Baku.
Also, the deputy minister expressed his deep gratitude to the brotherly Islamic countries for their support to the adoption of resolutions within the OIC regarding the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, and expressed hope that this support will continue in the future.
