Pskov region actively establishes relations with the concerned countries, Gennady Bezlobenko, deputy governor of the Pskov region said during a meeting with Azerbaijan's Consul General to St. Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov, rosbalt reported.
Deputy head of the region told the guest about the priorities of the development strategy till 2020 and proposed to consider the possibility of developing investment projects in the region by Azerbaijani entrepreneurs and the national diaspora in the Pskov region.
Osmanov on behalf of the Azerbaijani leadership expressed willingness to cooperate with the Pskov region. "At present, there is an extensive legal base to establish cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia's regions, including the Pskov region. The interaction at the regional level strengthens state ties between Russia and Azerbaijan as a whole", consul general said. He proposed to prepare agreements on trade-economic and cultural interaction.
The participants also discussed the possibility of cooperation between entrepreneurs of the Pskov region and Azerbaijan. Gennady Bezlobenko stressed that the regional leadership actively supports small and medium enterprises. He proposed to establish business relations and exchange experience to hold a joint business forum.
