Some companies, operating in Azerbaijan, try to abuse while inviting specialists from abroad, Arzu Rahimov, the head of the State Migration Service, told media.

"These specialists must be highly qualified, professional and experienced employees. Young people born in 1988-1990 are invited to the country as highly qualified specialists. Or, vice versa, they invite people born in 1960-1965, who worked nowhere before. How can this person be a highly qualified specialist if this person has not worked before? If our office receives inaccurate, false information on this issue from the companies, we decide to deny these companies, " Rahimov said.

While inviting foreigners to work, the company must pay the state fee to the amount of 1,000 manat. Thus, the foreigner gets an individual permit to engage in activity in the country. The individual permit may be renewed four times.

A foreigner gets a temporary residence permit on the basis of this permission.

Some companies are trying to recruit foreigners to work as sales managers. In this case, the service offers these companies to choose sales managers among Azerbaijani citizens, he said.

"There are enough sales managers in Azerbaijan. We explain for these companies to recruit Azerbaijani citizens as sales managers and to train them. There are companies that understand us. They recruit Azerbaijani citizens and send them abroad for training," Rahimov said.

He said that Azerbaijani citizens must be first provided with jobs on the domestic labor market.

He said that there were many foreigners in many large foreign companies operating in Azerbaijan 2-3 years ago. Today, on the contrary, many Azerbaijani citizens work there.
