Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva spoke at the World Turkic forum, the main theme of which was "Turkic Council, Turkic diaspora and Socio-economic cooperation", organized by the Turkish-Asian Center for Strategic Studies (TASAM) in the "Grand Cevahir Hotel". She informed the representatives of the Turkic countries and diaspora from 60 world countries about the Armenian occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory, Khojaly genocide, today's life of a million Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced people, Armenia's occupation policy, not allowing them to return to their ancestral lands, houses of their fathers and grandfathers.
She spoke about the work conducted by the Azerbaijani government and President Aliyev to expand cooperation among the Turkic countries and peoples and joint activity of Turkic diasporas to achieve common goals. Pashayeva said that the strength is in unity. The Nagorno-Karabakh problem is not only a problem of Azerbaijan, it is the problem of the entire Turkic world.
Turkic people worldwide and their organizations must do their utmost to resolve the problem. "Appealing to all our brothers and sisters - Kazakhs, Turkmens, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Balkan Turks, Turks of Turkey, Iraq, Russia, and I call for them to feel Karabakh and Khojaly genocide as their problems. I also call for them to fight against Armenian occupation and lie like every Azerbaijani Turk. We must act together to fight against the lie about "Armenian genocide", to move from defense to attack. We must try to convey to the world that 18 years ago Armenians committed genocide in Khojaly. We must consider these problems as our common. We must work together to combat these problems, " she added.
She presented books and materials about the realities of Azerbaijan, the Karabakh problem, the Khojaly genocide, prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to the participants of the event.
Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, MPs Fazil Gazanfaroglu, Sabir Rustamkhanli, chairman of Azeri-Turk Woman Union Tanzila Rustamkhanli, as well as the heads of several NGOs and diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan attended the forum and participated in discussions.
