The Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy at the Francophonie summit in the Swiss city of Montreux, Nino Kalandadze, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, said at a traditional briefing on Monday.
President Saakashvili also met with top officials of the Dominican Republic, Cameroon and Swiss Foreign Minister in Switzerland.
Georgia participated in the Francophonie summit, held on October 23-24, as an observer. The Georgian president to delivered a speech to the gathering.
"The summit adopted a communiqué, which unequivocally supports Georgia's territorial integrity, the continuation of the Geneva talks and the UN resolution on the return of refugees to their homes," Kalandadze said.
She said that the Georgian president personally thanked the summit participants for their support.
