A new "Summit TV" television channel is expected to be opened in Kazakhstan during the OSCE summit to be held in Astana on Dec.1-2, the Kazakh Communications and Information Ministry reported.

"The new television channel will be opened on the basis of one of Kazakhstan's state-run television channels and will broadcast in English," the report says.

The "Summit TV" television channel will broadcast historical, ethnic and cultural, educational programs about Kazakhstan, the summit events and interviews with guests and participants of the meeting of the Heads of States.

The ministry also plans to issue a newspaper "Astana Times" in English, which will be the main source of information for foreign visitors, on the eve of the OSCE Summit.
