Azerbaijani Central Election Commission Chairman Mazahir Panahov expressed dissatisfaction with the behavior of candidates during the debate.

"I noticed the appearance of unpleasant traditions during the roundtables. Baseless, unsubstantiated claims are voiced in respect of certain individuals. There are elements of crime in these actions. We must warn these people about their erroneous actions," Mazahir Panahov said at a CEC meeting on Monday.
CEC chairman also mentioned the untimely interruption of airtime by the candidates.

"I believe that we must apply a limit. It is our opinion and should be presented to the attention of roundtable participants, and especially to Public television. If such events continue, the CEC must make a decision to reduce the speeches of the candidates for 15 seconds in the case if they refuse to speak, when they are given time," said Panahov.

According to the CEC decision, all candidates received four minutes of free airtime.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
