Kuwait is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan and relations between the two countries would develop and strengthen, the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said in a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador Tural Rzayev.
Noting that he is aware of stable political situation, successful socio-economic reforms and ongoing development in Azerbaijan, the Crown Prince expressed his hope that "the increasing development of the fraternal country will continue to please him", an embassy's official told Trend on Monday.
The Azerbaijani diplomat conveyed the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev to the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as well as all the Kuwaiti people, and noted the great interest of the Azerbaijani President to the development of ties between the two friendly countries.
Historical, religious and cultural ties between the two countries create a favourable atmosphere for the development of relations, the ambassador said. The diplomat also touched upon the relations of Azerbaijan, which was among the first countries to adopt Islam, with Kuwait and the Arab States, stressed the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in these relationships.
At the meeting the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Kuwait for supporting the just position of Azerbaijan in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh on the international arena.
