The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis (lower house of Uzbek parliament) hosted the next meeting of the EU-Uzbekistan parliamentary cooperation committee, the press service of the Oliy Majlis.
The meeting was attended by members of the delegation of the European Parliament, the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, members of the Senate, representatives of several ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan.
At the meeting the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union, discussed relations between Uzbekistan and the EU, in particular, topical issues of financial, economic, humanitarian, legal nature.
It was noted that Uzbekistan's cooperation with many international organizations, in particular with the European Union is developing in many directions, including economic, social and political sphere and in the field of parliamentarism.
The delegation of European Parliament also held negotiations with the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Dilorom Tashmuhamedova, Oliy Majlis Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sayer Rashidova, held talks at the Foreign Ministry.
