Azerbaijani youth will actively participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Intigam Babayev has told Trend.

"The seminars held by the ministry among young people during the pre-election campaign showed that the youth is interested in a lot of questions related to the elections. This is evidence to that the young people will actively participate in the elections," Babayev said.

The previous elections showed that the Azerbaijani youth become more active from one election to another and the youth aware that their voice is of great importance in the election, he said. "The ministry calls the youth to always participate in the momentous political events in the country. This is not a call to participate in politics, the moral duty of every citizen is to take an active part in the country's elections," he added.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
