Kazakh Former Education Minister appointed ambassador in Turkey

Kazakh Former Minister of Education Zhanseit Tuimebayev, appointed ambassador in Turkey, handed over his credentials to Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Friday, thus officially taking the office, spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Ilyas Omarov told Trend.

Kazakh Former Minister of Education Zhanseit Tuimebayev, appointed ambassador in Turkey, handed over his credentials to Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Friday, thus officially taking the office, spokesman for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Ilyas Omarov told Trend.

The ceremony of handing over the credentials was held in the palace of the Turkish president "Cankaya" in Ankara.

"After the ceremony, Abdullah Gul appreciated the current Kazakh-Turkish relations and confirmed the desire of the Turkish leadership to further cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey on a wide range of bilateral and international issues," he said.

Turkish President confirmed his participation in the OSCE Summit to be held in Astana in early December, he said.

The OSCE summits have been held six times since establishing the organization in 1975. The last summit was held in Istanbul in 1999.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev thanked President Gul for the warm reception and assured that he will spare no efforts for the further development of Kazakh-Turkish relations in the spirit of strategic partnership.

The same day, Kazakh ambassador handed over his credentials to Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Fatih Ceylan, " he said.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev was appointed Kazakh Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Turkey by a presidential decree on Oct. 7.

A 52-year-old Tuimebayev has been working in the Kazakh Foreign Ministry since 1993. Earlier, he was the head of the consulate in Istanbul, as well as Kazakh ambassador to the Russian Federation. He has been working as the advisor to the president since 2004.

He served as Kazakh Minister of Education and Science from 2007 to September 22, 2010.
