Contracts worth 82.0 million manat have been signed with the republican security agencies to implement the measures foreseen in the State Defense Order Program, Azerbaijani Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov said at a board meeting on the results of the ministry's activities over the nine months of 2010.
The program stipulated the creation of 108 products on 98 subjects, he said. During the reported period, the work on six topics has been completed and 45 stages have been passed and completed. Jamalov said the production of defense products increased by 3.2 times compared to the same period of 2009, the ministry reported.
All forces must be mobilized for strengthening the country's' defense capability, equipping the republic armed forces with arms and ammunition corresponding modern requirements and fulfilling the most important obligations assigned to the ministry, Jamalov said.
