About 18 foreign media outlets were registered in Azerbaijan to observe the elections, Mazahir Panahov, chairman of the Central Election Commission, said.

He said that about 41 people will represent the registered foreign media outlets.

He said that roughly 1,016 international observers were registered with the CEC. About 3,466 local observers were registered with the commission.

He said that roughly 42,494 observers were registered with the constituencies.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
