The voter turnout hit 79.02 percent in the military units in Ganja, west Azerbaijan, by 15:00, Constituencies No. 37 and No. 39 told Trend.

Six polling stations were established in the six military units in Ganja under these constituencies. So far, 4,863 of 6,154 servicemen have voted in the poll.

There are four constituencies in Ganja: the 37th Nizami (Ganja) Constituency No.1, the 38th Nizami (Ganja) Constituency No.2, the 39th Kapaz (Ganja) Constituency No.1 and the 40th Kapaz (Ganja) Constituency No.2.

Azerbaijan has today launched the parliamentary elections at 08:00 local time.

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) reported that 690 candidates are running for the parliamentary elections.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.

Ganja is located in 365 km west of Baku.
