CEC: No governmental intervention in electoral process in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani parliamentary elections were held in an atmosphere of political stability and in accordance with national legislation, Azerbaijani Central Election Commission Chairman Mazahir Panahov said in a speech at a Constitutional Court meeting today.
"Governmental intervention in the electoral process was not reflected in the reports of local and international organizations," he said. "The reports also do not include complaints about police intervention in the electoral process."
Answering the question of a Constitutional Court member, Panahov said the annulling of the election results in 46 polling stations did not affect the results of the elections.At the end of his speech, he asked the court to approve the election results.
