Lebanese Ambassador to Turkmenistan (with residence in Yerevan), Gabriel Geara, noted "the prospects of fruitful cooperation" following his meetings in the Turkmen ministries, the Turkmen government reported.
Geara said this is "conditioned not only with the huge resource potential and an advantageous geographical position of our country, but, above all, 'open-door policy' and 'broad international cooperation' pursued by the Turkmen government, which creates opportunities for effective and long-term interaction.
He held a series of meetings in the ministries of foreign economy and development, and Construction and Central Bank of Turkmenistan. The meetings mulled issues of further intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation. Geara, as the first Ambassador of Lebanon in Turkmenistan, was accredited in spring of 2009.
During the visit, a Lebanese delegation visited a historical museum, the Museum of Turkmen Carpet, historical and archaeological complex of the Parthian era Nisa near Ashgabat.
