Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas Irena Degutiene will hold meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Parliamentary Speaker Ogtay Asadov and Prime Minister Artur Rasizade during her official visit to Baku scheduled for Feb. 8-11, Baltic News reported.
Degutiene will also meet with Azerbaijani ministers, politicians and other officials, the Lithuanian Parliamentary PR Department said.
The speaker hopes that this visit will contribute to the creation of better conditions for Lithuanian business in Azerbaijan.
"Meetings of Lithuania and Azerbaijan's senior politicians are a great opportunity not only to strengthen bilateral political relations, but also try to open the gate for Lithuanian business. We also hope to interest Azerbaijani officials with projects implemented in Lithuania in various spheres, particularly in the energy sector," Degutiene said.
The speaker will be accompanied by a delegation of Lithuanian businessmen.
