The Georgian side expects the Strasbourg Court to recognize the deportation of Georgians from Russia on ethnic factors. This is a very important process both legally and politically, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said on the traditional briefing.
"The Georgian delegation will be large during the process. It includes the injured themselves, as well as representative of the Foreign Ministry Zurab Pataridze, who was the consul of Georgia to Russia that time," Kalandadze said.
The European Court of Human Rights began to consider the claim "Georgia against Russia." The case concerns the mass deportation of Georgians from Russia. The suit was brought on March 26, 2007.
