Iran's Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes the UK government creates differences among Muslims.

The Muslim states must make every effort to establish unity and strengthen the Islamic countries, Khamenei said at a meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul in Tehran, the FARS news agency reported.

"The Western countries constantly insulted Muslim countries and any people or state rising to fight against these insults, was constantly oppressed and pressured," Khamenei said.

He said if the Muslim countries recognize their potential and power, they will be able to influence global processes, and the current situation will change.

Khamenei said the U.S. is trying to change the direction of national movement in Egypt. "Iran is against the interference of external forces in the events in Egypt and believes the Egyptian people will itself make a decision on its fate," he added.

Regarding the Iranian-Turkish relations, Khamenei stressed the importance of developing bilateral ties.

President Gul arrived in Iran on Sunday with a four-day official visit. During the visit, Gul is accompanied by over 250 Turkish businessmen. Following the official talks in Tehran, Gul paid a visit to Isfahan. He is also expected to visit Tabriz.
