Georgia's national security concept has recognized the OSCE as the most important institution for European security that plays a significant role in ensuring peace, stability, democracy and human rights.

The draft concept notes that Georgia is committed to the Helsinki Final Act and the fundamental documents of the OSCE principles, which are based on full respect for agreements on state sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Georgia believes further enhancing the role of the OSCE will contribute to the consolidation of the security of the countries, which signed the agreement.

"The main purpose of the legally and politically binding agreements of the OSCE on security is to respect principles of transparency, to increase trust among states, and to strengthen the united and unbroken system of European security," the Georgian government reported.

The OSCE's assistance in strengthening democratic institutions is of great importance, it added.
