President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by President of Romanian "NIRO Investment group" company, Nicolae Dumitru, the official website of the Azerbaijani president said.
President of "NIRO Investment Group" Company, Nicolae Dumitru, said he was delighted to have the opportunity to present "President Ilham Aliyev - the person of the year 2010" Award to the President, as member of the representative delegation of "The Balkans and Europe" magazine. He said the President was unanimously nominated for this award by an influential board of judges, consisting of academicians, scholars, journalists and lawyers of the magazine, for the great successes achieved and highly valued in the country, despite the world financial crisis. Nicolae Dumitru expressed his confidence in continuation of the Romanian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and friendly relations between our people, and presented the "Person of the Year-2010" award to the President.
The President expressed his gratitude for the "Person of the Year-2010" award and characterized this decision of "The Balkans and Europe" magazine as an indicator of relations between the two states. President Ilham Aliyev said the relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are developing successfully in various fields and cover a number of areas, including political, economic and humanitarian spheres. The President noted the importance of high-level mutual visits for development of bilateral relations. Mentioning that Romania is one of the closest friendly states to Azerbaijan in the world, President Ilham Aliyev also highlighted the significance of various documents, signed between the two countries, with a particular emphasis put on the Agreement on strategic partnership.
