An opening ceremony for a project focused on improving waste-management systems is scheduled to be held today as part of the Japanese government's program "Grassroots and Human Security Grant Aid" in the Georgian village of Marneuli.

As the Georgian Infrastructure and Regional Management Ministry told Trend, the ceremony will be attended by the Japanese ambassador to Georgia Masaoshi Kamohara, representatives of central and local authorities, as well as representatives of partner companies.
The grant contract was signed on October 20, 2009, between the Japanese Embassy and the NGO "Institute for Civic Development".

The program "Grassroots and Human Security Grant Aid" contributes to relatively small-scale projects that are being implemented by municipalities, medical institutions, educational institutions and NGO's.
