Kazakhstan appoints economic integration minister

Zhanar Aitzhanova has been appointed Kazakhstan's economic integration minister. Earlier Aitzhanova headed the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, now this ministry is headed by Kayrat Kelimbetov.

Zhanar Aitzhanova has been appointed Kazakhstan's economic integration minister.
Earlier Aitzhanova headed the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, now this ministry is headed by Kayrat Kelimbetov.

Aitzhanova was born in 1965. She has graduated from the S.M.Kirov State University in Kazakhstan, the Joint Vienna Institute, John Kennedy School of Government of the Harvard University (USA). She is fluent in English and Czech.

Aitzhanova was appointed the Deputy Industry and Trade Minister in September, 2003. Since May 2005, she has been Kazakhstan's Special Representative for talks on accession to the World Trade Organization.
