The parliaments of Azerbaijan and Italy discussed the prospects of relations, a source at the Azerbaijani embassy in Italy told Trend.
The chairman of the Azerbaijani parliamentary committee on international and inter-parliamentary relations, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov and a member of the committee, chairman of Azerbaijan-Italy working group on inter-parliamentary relations Azer Kerimli are on a working visit to Italy at the invitation of the chairman of the standing committee on the EU policy of the Italian Senate, the head of Italy-Azerbaijan friendship group Rossano Baldi, said the embassy.
On the first day of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met with deputy chairman of the standing committee on foreign relations of the Italian Senate Alberto Filippi and chairman of the standing committee on foreign relations of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy Stefano Stefani.
On the same day, a roundtable on "Azerbaijan-Italian ties" was conducted in the Senate at the initiative of the standing committee on EU policy of the Italian Senate and with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadikhov also attended the meeting.
