Venezuela plans to open a diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
Venezuela intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan in various spheres. It plans to open a diplomatic mission in Baku.

In October 2010, Venezuelan Ambassador to Iran David Nieves Velásquez Caraballo, who is also accredited in Azerbaijan, presented his credentials to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
