The Uzbek president signed a resolution appointing Asadjon Khojayev as a director of newly established Intellectual Property Agency.

As it was reported, the Intellectual Property Agency was established in May 2011 on the basis of the State Patent Department and the Uzbek Republican Agency for Copyright.

The purpose of the agency is to implement a unified state policy in the sphere of legal protection and protection of rights for intellectual property objects - promoting introduction of innovative technologies and scientific and technical developments in the process of modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of economy industries, as well as ensuring reliable protection of rights for intellectual property objects .

The Agency will represent Uzbekistan at the World Intellectual Property Organization and other international and regional organizations in the field of intellectual property. Uzbek president appoints or dismisses the agency's director general.

Prior to this appointment, 31-year-old Khojayev, served as Deputy Director General of the Uzbek Agency for Communications and Informatization.
