Georgia, Tbilisi, Aug.12 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /
The Interior Ministry's Information and Analytical Department Head Shota Utiashvili again failed to appear in court for questioning by the country's former border police chief in Badri Bitsadze's criminal case.
According to Bitsadze's lawyer Levan Samushia told Trend that the Interior Ministry's senior official has twice ignored a summons to the Tbilisi City Court.
Bitsadze's lawyer requires a summons for questioning, as a witness, about the former Speaker Nino Burjanadze's husband.
Hearings on Bitsadze's criminal case are being held daily, except on weekends.
Bitsadze is tried in absentia due to his evasion of justice. He is accused of organizing illegal armed groups.
