Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug.26 / Trend, E. Ostapenko /
The next summit for the leaders of the Turkic-speaking countries will be held in Almaty on Oct. 20-21, the Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov said on Friday. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev plans to attend the summit.
President Aliyev will pay an official visit to Astana, during which he is expected to sign several documents on strengthening a mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, Primbetov said. Primbetov added that relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are a dynamically developing strategic partnership.
"The advanced level of relations between our leaders, singular positions on many international and regional issues, and close economic, social, and humanitarian relations depict positive and progressive developments; an evident strengthening of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan", Primbetov said at a press conference, dedicated to 16th anniversary of the country's constitution.
Primbetov believes that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Baku in October 2009 was an important step in developing bilateral relations. At the time, the president attended a summit of Turkic-speaking countries, which was held in Nakhchivan.
