OSCE Baku Office head: OSCE to further support democratic reforms in Azerbaijan (UPDATE)
Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept.9 / Trend, S.Agayeva /
OSCE will further support Azerbaijan's efforts to carry out democratic reforms in the country.
"The OSCE Office in Baku will continue cooperation with the Azerbaijani government, the country's legislative body, civil society and media outlets, and will support the country's efforts to carry out democratic reforms," head of OSCE Office in Baku Koray Targay told Trend on Friday.
Targay succeeds Ambassador Ali Bilge Cankorel from Turkey, who ended his mission in Azerbaijan.
Targay said the Baku Office, according to OSCE mandate, closely cooperates with the state agencies, political parties and civil society.
"We are not so naïve to expect tangible results of our activity for a short period.
Democratization is a long process requiring will, and most importantly, continuous efforts.
From this point of view, we intend to contribute to carrying out reforms in Azerbaijan," Targay said.
He expressed confidence in the fact that Azerbaijan will fulfill all the undertaken obligations with joint efforts, both in improving legislation and execution of laws.
