The International Institute for Strategic Studies IISS will be holding a workshop entitled "UN Sanctions on Iran - Impact on the Region" in Istanbul on Nov.16-18, 2011.
Expert of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) Reshad Karimov will attend the event and make a presentation that will outline Azerbaijan's policies in terms of implementation of the sanctions, the center reported.
Other regional participants will examine the need of further understand the obligations that countries face in doing business with Iran and practical suggestions related to sanctions.
The meeting will focus on how well the UN sanctions on Iran are being implemented and the difficulties that regional governments and commercial entities have experienced in this regard. It will also raise awareness of the 'best practices' for concerned industries, organizations and states, and discuss the measures that must be taken in order to comply with the sanctions and the risks associated with infringing them.
