Children are our future. Their carefree life, providing with health care services that meet high standards, physical and spiritual development in a healthy, socially favorable atmosphere and the necessary conditions for their abilities are one of our main tasks, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's greeting to participants of the second Azerbaijani children's forum in Baku said.
The chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova read out the greeting on Wednesday.
"I warmly welcome the participants of the II Republican Forum and all children," the President said. "I wish you sound health, happiness and success in life. This year is marked by the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's state independence. Children-participants of today's forum were born during the years of independence."
"I believe that you will grow up as spiritually-rich generation while bringing up in the spirit of Azerbaijani culture," the message said. "You will spare no efforts for the Republic to make achievements in the future and to develop the country. The formation of children, as worthy citizens of our country, is a leading direction of state policy of independent Azerbaijani Republic. The law of the Azerbaijani Republic on "Rights of the Child" including the main provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted in 1998. The national legislative and regulations have been improved since that time and during the entire period. Several state programs were adopted for children to grow up with a broad outlook and in a healthy atmosphere."
The President expressed hope that the forum will become a logical continuation of the consistently conducted state policy in the country.
