Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on November 24 got acquainted with the Azerbaijan Railways Stock Company`s passenger cars repaired in Slovakia.
The Head of State viewed the stands featuring work done to develop the country`s railways in the frame of State Program on transport system in 2010-2014s.
Transport minister Ziya Mammadov informed on the refurbishment work on the Baku-Boyuk Kesik part of the Azerbaijan Railways being implemented on the Czech Export Bank`s credit.
The President viewed the photo-stands with description of transportation and installment works, the devices and facilities used in repair of the railways on the base of contract signed with the Czech Export Bank.
Mammadov updated on the state of things on construction work on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
President Aliyev was informed that under the contract signed in February 2008, five passenger cars of the Azerbaijan Railways were sent to the Slovakia`s Sazvrudki plant. The cars were accommodated for express routes, equipped with modern ventilation and ecological systems. All conditions are provided here for passengers` comfort.
President Aliyev watched the process of online booking the customers can order over the web via computer.
President of Azerbaijan gave certain instructions on the work done for modernization of the country`s railways.
