Georgia, Armenia to simplify border and customs regime

Georgia stands for further simplification of customs and border procedures on the Georgian-Armenian border, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a joint briefing with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Tbilisi.
"Our citizens will take only one check at the border: coming out of Armenia - the Armenian, and coming from Georgia - the Georgian. It won't be necessary to go out the car, as it is done in the French-Swiss border, and people won't have to wait for hours. We have come to an end in the negotiations on simplification of border regulations, and our borders will be transparent," Saakashvili said.
Saakashvili noted the same regime operates on the border with Turkey.
