The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on holding the 90th anniversary of the composer Fikret Amirov.
Ministry of Culture and Tourism together with the Ministry of Education and the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, taking into account the proposals of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan is charged to prepare and implement an action plan on the 90th anniversary of Fikret Amirov.
The Cabinet of Ministers was entrusted to resolve all issues arising out of this order.
The 90th anniversary of a prominent Azerbaijani composer, famous public figure, USSR People's Artist, Hero of Socialist Labor, Laureate of State Prize of the USSR and Azerbaijan Fikret Amirov will be in November 2012.
Numerous works of Fikret Amirov, written in various genres of music, inscribed bright page in the history of the musical art of Azerbaijan. His opera, ballet, symphony, songs and romances, occupy a special place in the gold reserves of the cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people. Azerbaijani symphonic mugam is heard at the biggest concert halls in the performance of well-known orchestras. Fikret Amirov played an exceptional role in the recognition of Azerbaijani culture.
