Tajikistan increases electricity export in 2011

Tajikistan increased electricity export by almost 19 percent in 2011, Asia-Plus reported on Monday. The country exported 190.9 million kWh of electricity to the amount of $4,268,800 in 2010.
Last year the country produced more than 16.2 billion kWh, or 1.2 percent less than in 2010. About 16,176 million kWh from the total electricity was produced by hydropower plants, 41,1 million kWh - by thermal power plants.
In 2011 Tajikistan imported 179.7 million cubic meters of natural gas, amounted $48.2 million, which is more than 2010th index by 3.3 percent.
