Georgia's progress on the way to NATO integration will be reflected at the Chicago summit, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.

"NATO member-countries appreciated the reforms carried out in Georgia during a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission," the statement said. "They expressed gratitude for Georgia's participation in NATO operations in Afghanistan and stressed the importance of the document adopted in March to intensify practical cooperation and relations between Georgia and NATO to facilitate the integration process."

The allies expressed their respect for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and appreciated Georgia's efforts for a peaceful settlement of conflicts and unilateral steps made in this direction, the document said.

"The allies have expressed strong support for Georgia's joining NATO and stressed that Georgia's contribution to the strengthening of the Euro-Atlantic security, the progress made while implementing the reforms and integration into NATO will be reflected at the Chicago summit," the statement said.
