Azerbaijani President receives Director-General of UN Food and Agriculture Organization

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Jose Graziano da Silva and his accompanying delegation.
The Head of State expressed satisfaction with successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and FAO, and described Baku`s hosting the 28th European Regional Conference of the FAO as a `good` sign of this cooperation. President Aliyev expressed assurance that the conference would be `successful`, and provide a `good` opportunity for becoming familiar with Azerbaijan.
In turn, FAO Director-General described high-level representation of 46 region states at the conference as an indicator of the great interest to the event. According to him, one of the main goals of the event is to outline agricultural development priorities. Jose Graziano da Silva underlined that ministerial round-table within the conference will also discuss "food security" issues.
The FAO official congratulated Azerbaijan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
