The French embassy in Azerbaijan has created a constituency for voting at the presidential elections in this country, the diplomatic mission told Trend today.

French citizens, living in the country, actively participate in the elections. The voting results will be announced on Monday.

The first round of the presidential elections has started in France today. Te voters will vote for one of 10 candidates, two of which are expected to compete in the second round on May 6.

Incumbent French President Nicolas Sarkozy (Union for a Popular Movement, right), Francois Hollande (Socialist Party, left), Marine Le Pen (National Front, right), Francois Bayrou (MoDem, centre), Jean-Luc Melenchon (Left Front, left), Eva Joly (Europe Environment/Greens, left), Nathalie Arthaud (Workers' Force, trade union, left), Philippe Poutou (New Anticapitalist Party), M. Nicolas Dupont-Aignan (Arise the Republic, centre), Jacques Cheminade (independent, republican left) are ten candidates for the presidential post.
